Projekthistorie
The Center for Haptic Audio Interaction Research (CHAIR) is a start-up with products in the field of musical interfaces and physical modeling synthesizers. Here, I designed and implemented audio DSP algorithms, optimizing performance for embedded systems, I developed micro controller circuits including codecs, FPGA circuits with fixed point DSP, I implemented physical models of acoustic systems, etc.
Developing firmware and hardware for ultra low-latency embedded audio devices on an open source platform.
I developed application and driver software on Bela's embedded linux platform, as well as firmware for the STM32 and Infineon PSoC for touch interaction and custom LED matrix display solutions for an audio product.

The Tickle
The Tickle is an interface for physical modelling synthesizers. It comes in a brushed stainless steel frame with recessed side panels in naturally waxed oak wood. Depending on the firmware mode, the Tickle can either send touch position and vibration data via Class Compliant Audio/MIDI devices or the excitation signal and CV for x, y and gate / envelope. The instrument also features an external input port which lets you override the internal surface sensor and lets you connect future extension.
