In addition to new installations (RedHat Linux Cluster; Linux VMs), monitoring, scripting, maintenance etc. are the main tasks. There are also current problems, HW maintenance, as well as intensive support for downtime of fabricsupdates, upgrades, DB switches in urgent manner in order to keep the downtime as short as possible.
The NAZ, the Swiss National Alarm Center, is the federal agency which ensures that civil protection- relevant locations between allemergency organizations (cantonal agencies, police, border guards, federal offices,operators of telecommunications, energy and transport networks, military via the
NAZ applications can be exchanged. The NAZ is also 365 days a yearavailable 24 hrs and able to go into action within 1 hour. NAZ IT ensures 24/365 operation through an internal on-call service. The main office of the NAZ is Zurich, the operational organization including Ubuntu clients have been extended to a new location in Bern, Capital of Swiss.
Server environment of NAZ has been classified as SECRET.
