About the role
Our Partner in the automotive industry is looking for a highly skilled senior DevOps engineer to join their German team and play a central role in building and operating their AWS-based cloud infrastructure. This role involves combining development, automation, and operations, and leveraging modern DevOps practices, container technologies, and observability platforms.

Your responsibilities will include designing scalable cloud architectures, implementing automation using TypeScript and AWS CDK, developing and optimising CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the reliability, stability, and security of our platform. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex cloud environments, takes ownership of tasks, and is committed to long-term collaboration.

Tasks
  1. Design, build, and operate AWS cloud infrastructure (ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudFormation, API Gateway, Route53, Secrets Manager, Load Balancers)
  2. Develop and maintain automation and platform tooling with TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS CDK
  3. Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  4. Implement monitoring, logging, and observability with Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, OpenSearch, and support Akamai-based setups
  5. Containerize and operate services using Docker/Docker Compose
  6. Handle OPS tasks (incident response, troubleshooting, stability improvements)
  7. Participate in the on-call rotation (approx. one week every 5–7 weeks, 24/7, remote)
  8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive continuous platform improvements

Experience (must-have):
  1. Several years of experience in DevOps/SRE roles in complex environments
  2. Strong skills in TypeScript, Node.js, and AWS CDK
  3. Deep hands-on experience with core AWS services
  4. Experience with observability tooling and exposure to Akamai
  5. Solid CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions and strong Git skills
  6. Strong experience with Docker and containerized workloads
  7. German (B2+) and good English communication skills
  8. Ability to understand complex systems quickly; willingness to perform OPS work and participate in on-call duties

Additional experience (nice-to-have):
  1. Knowledge of Java or Kotlin
  2. Experience with Jenkins and Groovy pipelines
  3. Linux, shell scripting, and basic web server know-how
  4. Familiarity with ITSM/ITIL, AWM, PIC processes
  5. High level of autonomy and openness to innovative solutions
