Beschreibung
To accelerate product development cycles, the client aims to replace selected physical product tests with virtual simulations. To achieve this efficiently, mechanical testing and simulation capabilities must be integrated directly into product creation tools, enabling the product creation team to run virtual tests with only minimal supervision from testing and simulation experts.
This assignment focuses on integrating Abaqus simulation capabilities into Rhino/Grasshopper, with the contractor enhancing the existing workflow to support new requirements from business stakeholders. Work will be conducted in an agile (Kanban) environment.
Throughout the project, the contractor will work on complex simulation challenges raised by product creation and innovation teams. The objective is to expand and improve the existing simulation toolset.
2. Background
This initiative aims to strengthen the digital creation pipeline by leveraging cloud-based Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Since this specific expertise is not available within the internal development team, the contractor will act as the primary technical specialist for these topics.
Project meetings will occur on a daily to bi-weekly basis, depending on project phase and progress.
3. Service Description
All work will follow agile development practices with tasks managed via a Kanban board. The contractor will have full access to the board and will independently select and move tasks into their “In Progress” lane based on priority. Due to the nature of Kanban, not all work packages can be defined upfront; additional tasks may be added throughout the project.
The contractor will take on the role of Developer, collaborating with the team to refine the backlog and clarify task details. More specific requirements will be provided through the project’s Jira board.
The client will provide all necessary tools, documentation, system access, product information, and points of contact. Deliverables will be shared through Bitbucket (code and examples) and SharePoint (documentation).
4. Scope of Services
The contractor will independently perform the following tasks:
? Development of an FEA-based testing componentImplement a Python-based software module for predefined standard test cases (FE4).
Hosted in the client’s Git repositories
Deployed to Artifactory
Physical test cases will be defined and provided by the Innovation or Advanced Testing teams
? Integration of FEA into Rhino/GrasshopperDevelop a Grasshopper Python plugin that:
Provides an interface to call cloud-based FEA simulations
Collects and prepares all necessary data for cloud submission
Triggers simulation endpoints as required
? CI/CD Pipeline ImplementationCreate Jenkins scripts supporting continuous integration and deployment for all developed components, including automated test cases for the FE4 module.
? Visualization CapabilitiesImplement functionality to import, read back, and visualize deformed geometries from cloud-based FEA directly within Rhino.
