About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Freelance Network Engineer (m/f/d) to support the implementation and maintenance of complex enterprise network infrastructures. This role involves hands-on work with Layer 2/3 networking, security configurations, and VPN deployments in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute implementation plans for enterprise networks, including:
- Spanning Tree, VLANs, VPCs, Port Channels
- Redundant ISP connectivity and WAN integration
- Data center network design and extranet connectivity
- Administer and troubleshoot networks using technologies such as Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and leased TELCOM connections.
- Configure and maintain site-to-site and client-based VPNs, IPsec, and MPLS tunnels.
- Implement and maintain firewall perimeters and network protection plans.
- Perform network segmentation and apply security best practices.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with protocols: TCP/IP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VLANs, Wireless LANs, VPN.
- Solid knowledge of routing and switching, WAN/LAN technologies, and data center network design.
- Familiarity with ASA firewall configuration and security standards.
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and deliver results.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Key Deliverables
- Firewall rule analysis and refinement.
- Blocking Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) at the network perimeter.
- Limiting ingress/egress traffic and applying segmentation.
- Appliance patching and updates.
- Secure VPN / ZTNA deployment.
