About the role
Our partner in the automotive industry is looking for a highly skilled senior DevOps engineer to join their German team and play a central role in building and operating their AWS-based cloud infrastructure. This role involves combining development, automation, and operations, and leveraging modern DevOps practices, container technologies, and observability platforms.

Your responsibilities will include designing scalable cloud architectures, implementing automation using TypeScript and AWS CDK, developing and optimising CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the reliability, stability, and security of our platform. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in complex cloud environments, takes ownership of tasks, and is committed to long-term collaboration.

Tasks
  1. Implement and optimize modern DevOps practices
  2. Develop automation and platform solutions (preferably in TypeScript or Java)
  3. Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code
  4. Build platform components using the AWS CDK (TypeScript)
  5. Work with core AWS services such as ECS, CloudFormation, S3, Secrets Manager, Lambda, API Gateway, Load Balancers, Route53, and RDS
  6. Implement monitoring and observability with Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch
  7. Integrate and operate containerized workloads using Docker / Docker Compose
  8. Work in Linux-based environments
  9. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions as well as Jenkins/Groovy
  10. Contribute actively within the GitHub ecosystem
  11. Handle OPS duties, including troubleshooting and incident response

Experience:
  1. Several years of experience in complex cloud or enterprise environments
  2. Self-driven, structured, and goal-oriented working style
  3. Strong communication and teamwork skills (German B2, English B2/C1)
  4. Ability and willingness to quickly understand complex systems
  5. Willingness to participate in an extended on-call rotation every few weeks
